April 9th Update

HALLELUJAH GLORY TO GOD! Both of our parents have been successfully extubated and are speaking to us!!! 


We had the immense blessing of a family phone call today where Marlin and Artie were able to exchange I love yous. 


We are elated!! This feels like we are finally hitting mile two of this marathon and you know what they always say - the first mile sucks. 


Prayer Requests: please pray for continued stability of the ventilators and progressing independence.


Marathons get completed! Keep praying.

    Thank you for the update, this is cousin, Ernie Miller, from Ohio, please know Pam and I are praying for Artie and Marlin (and all of you). Of course Kay and Joanna and others in the family are praying as well. Our church prays on Sunday evenings for members and extended family and friends. We will make our church family aware of Artie and Marlin's injuries (and David's as well) and we will pray as a congregation. Please know we have many dedicated prayer warriors in our congregation and they will faithfully pray along with us.

    This is such good news. Thank You, Alison, Derek, and Dylan, for keeping Family, and Friends updated on the progress Your Mom and Dad are making. We know that ALL things work out for good to those who love God, so we know that will hold true in what has happened. Our prayer is that Marlin, and Artie will be restored to health, and this accident will cause us all to remember how quickly our lives can change. Praise God from who ALL blessing flow.     Harold and Linda Guyer have been so concerned about Artie and Marlin. He talks with Flossie every day and tries to keep her spirits up. Continued prayers for your parents.

Two months ago, we were all praying for a miracle to be able to share this post with you all today. God is so good & has provided refuge & restoration for our family - our gratitude is beyond words.   Week one, a family friend told us “the good thing about marathons is that marathons end.” Today we are blessed to say our marathon has ended.  While there is no doubt still a journey ahead, new beginnings & continued recovery - we have survived the thick of it by the grace of our loving God, the incredible medical professionals from day one to now that have cared tirelessly for our parents, the prayer & support of friends and family that truly goes beyond our comprehension. Artie & Marlin - First Update from the Family

  Hello Loved Ones:  This morning we were made aware that our parents were in an accident on Route 7 near Hill High Orchard. They were crossing Route 7 and hit by an oncoming driver that they did not see.    Our parents were transferred to separate hospitals.  Artie is in Reston Marlin is Winchester They are both in critical condition at this time. We are happy to report that thankfully both of them are responsive and know we are there. Derek and Faye are with Marlin in Winchester and Dylan and Drew are with Artie in Reston.  Alison and Dave are en route on flights from Texas arriving at 10pm this evening.  Marlin is responsive and knows Derek is there with him. Main concern now is mild bleeding in the spleen. They are waiting to see if the bleeding will stop on its own, if not they will need to remove in surgery. April 29th Update - Artie is Home & Visitor / Meal Information

Mom is home! Dad is set for pick up tomorrow morning! Praise God! As shared previously, we are going to have some new ways that you all can continue to support us.  Visitors:  Our parents are going to be so excited to start seeing their amazing friends and family! We are going to open up a visiting spot for 30 minutes a day starting next week to give us some time to adjust to everyone being home. If you want to come for a visit just sign up at the link below. Please know these visits are intentionally short with Artie in mind.
