April 7th Update

We had another really stable day yesterday with small improvements that will absolutely add up over time.

Artie is continuing to remain stable following extubation. She is moving around in the bed and still responding to commands.

She is still sleeping and has not yet woken up. This is to be expected and although we all want to see her awake, we need to remember there is immense value in her coming around on own her time. Due to this they were not able to perform swallow & speech tests yesterday.

All other injuries are stable and being monitored with no further intervention required at this time.

She will start to begin physical & occupational therapy.

Prayer Requests: please pray for continued progress & for peace. Pray that she begins to come to consciousness on Gods perfect timing.

Marlin had a great day yesterday. He still intubated and sedated for his comfort and continues to wake-up and follow commands when prompted.

Yesterday we saw exactly the progress we have been praying for with oxygen levels, fluid & saturation. He has remained stable even though he continues to be in pain when moved. We are so proud of him!!

In the next couple of days the medical team is hopeful that we may be able to start some breathing trials to take a step towards breathing independence.

We remain thrilled with the progress he made overnight and looking forward to the day ahead.

Prayer Requests: please pray for continued progress & steps towards independence. Pray that his body continues this miraculous healing & that he rests to allow it to do so.

We are celebrating every good 12 hours we can get! Keep praying. And as always thank you for your well wishes and thoughts.

Love you more.

Alison, Derek & Dylan

  1. Fran Steffes (Retiree from AME/QSI Sheboygan, WI) Sorry to hear about Marlin & Artie's accident. I'll pray for their strength to endure the difficult days ahead (or weeks or months) before things get better, but that's okay because healing is a process that takes time. My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with your family. Thank you for posting this Blog.
