April 15th Update
Another consistent day! Our parents are both holding steady with no major changes.
We are trying so hard to be patient with ourselves and remember that recovery is going to take time. Please pray for us kids to hold on tight to faith, remain at peace, be filled with patience and to remember that God didn’t bring us this far to only bring us this far. We are all doing well - this is just a long, slow and emotionally trying process.
Marlin is holding steady which is exactly what he needs to do! He is adjusting well to solid food and we are really hopeful to have him discharged to Reston Rehab next week.
Prayer Requests: please pray that he continues to remain stable & be patient with this process. Pray that his case would be accepted by the rehab facility in Reston so that out parents could continue to recover together.
Artie had another solid day of rehab. She is continues to do well in her therapies & is exhausted by the end of the day!
Tomorrow is her birthday so be sure to send her some extra love and prayer for an awesome day!
Prayer Requests: Pray that she continues her path to a complete cognitive recovery.
Thank you all so much for all of the continued love and support! God is good.
Keep praying.
Love you more.
Alison, Derek & Dylan
I was the other driver in the accident and have been praying since the time of the accident. It was a bad night for me and a much worse one for Artie and Marlin. There are many people praying for them. The word that God gave me as I prayed is that they are alive because He still has a purpose for them. As the paramedics were putting Marlin, I asked them if he was going to make it. There was no response. I am so thankful that he not only survived but he is recovering. I pray for him constantly. I have know doubt that God was there at the accident scene and protected them. I have also been praying for the family because I know this must be tough. God is faithful and we will see His mighty hands move.

We appreciate Your concern, and Your willingness to share this with Family, and Friends of Marlin and Artie. We also feel that while God allows, what seems to be tragic events, will be used for good. God's Word tells us that He is not willing that any perish, and will do whatever He can to bring People to Salvation through Jesus Christ. So often these very incidents are what brings someone to that Salvation. Thanks, again, for praying for Marlin, and Artie. And, thanks again, for making the comment You have.
DeleteThank you so much for sharing this with us and for following up on our parents! Your prayers mean the world to us. We are filled with gratitude and your kind words bring tears to our eyes. We know how awful this is for all involved and have been praying for you as well! This is a lot to have to process and we are always here to talk if it would be helpful. God bless you!

Dear Artie and Marlin
ReplyDeletePrayers and sincere wishes to you and Marlin on your steady improvement. Each moment of each day is a blessing, and you are on the right path to recovery.
You two are some of the kindest, most thoughtful people I know. We have the good fortune and privilege to count you among our dearest friends.
Happy Birthday to Artie -:)
Dear Alison, Derek, and Dylan,
You are in our hearts, and our thoughts as well. Your dedication to supporting your parents is absolutely amazing, although not surprising, knowing all of you and your strong family values.
